The successful applicant will be able to compile and edit weekly listings for London's most important dance events but, more crucially, be able to generate a regular stream of brilliant stories that ensure Time Out leads the way in the coverage of dance in the capital. A qualified accountant, preferably ACA with a flair for business. Experience in publishing (ideally book publishing) would be a real advantage, but not essential. You will work closely with the MD and the Board to plan the long term strategy of the Time Out Guides business. This is a senior position in the Guides Company.

• Prepare a detailed integrated financial projection to support the business strategy.
• Ensure that management accounts are accurate, easy to interpret and prepared on a timely basis.
• Provide detailed sales analysis.
• Act in a proactive manner in the event that performance strays from target.
• Assist auditors during their review.
• Benchmark our products against competitors, identifying trends and changes in the business environment.

He/she will be expected to monitor schedules for editorial page layout or ad delivery, proofing, correction and final sign-off of various publications. He/she will then monitor the progress of each of these stages, liaising with internal editorial, advertising and design staff.

They will be expected to liaise with our own suppliers and to act as an information link between internal and external agencies.

The person we are looking for would need to have strong administrative and communication skills and be experienced in the use of Word and Excel.

Experience of magazine or book production from a publishing, reprographic or printing environment would be an asset.

Some late night working, travel to suppliers including overnight stays may be required.

Time Out Guides require freelance sales reps/agencies to handle advertising sales on specific titles in the popular Time Out City Guide series.

We currently need representation in: Dublin, Milan and Mallorca.

Freelance sales reps/agencies should ideally be residing in these cities/areas with good advertising contacts at both the local and national level. Applicants should be confident, tenacious and able to work on their own initiative within a tight publishing schedule. Previous ad sales experience is essential. Positions are offered on a freelance basis.

These titles are published on a two-year publishing cycle.
