The grandness of this vast café on the corner of the Stopera complex belies the fact that it's modern: velvet drapes, Chesterfields and faux oil paintings give the feel of a gentleman's club. The outside terrace has unmatched views of the river, and it's a handy pit-stop after the Waterlooplein fleamarket or before a concert at the Muziektheater. (Note that the opening hours sometimes vary, depending on whether there's a concert being performed or not.)
