The bar that began the gentrification of the Pijp is now one of the old guard, but its sleek-with-a-twist-of-kitsch chic (glossy red walls, American fridges) still sets the agenda for other young pretenders in the area, as does its loungey feel, cocktails and world-fusion snacks menu. The hip clientele have aged gracefully along with their watering-hole, but make room for a dash of new blood.
