Many places round the Red Light District are decidedly dodgy, but not this one. Vijaya is basic but cheerful, and rooms (some sleep up to five) are all en suite and well looked-after – a perfectly adequate choice if you just want somewhere to dump your stuff and sleep at night. A few rooms come with canal views – it’s worth asking for one, since you never know what you’ll see in this lively area. Includes continental breakfast.
