Your first thought on seeing this brick bulk on the fringe of Vondelpark is ‘great location, lousy building’. But once inside the green-carpeted, rather country-clubbish rooms, you get all the little comforts standard to this class of hotel to help you forget the blandness of it all. It’s a very child-friendly place – with cots for babies and an on-site Pizza Hut, and of course, acres of green play-space round the back.
