There’s more to this bolt-hole than the prosaic name implies. Run with tons of tender loving care by the charmingly scatty owners, rooms are furnished in glamorous but understated ’30s style, decorated with framed Bauhaus posters, and, in this cramped town, you be glad to know that they are all a good size. Room eight, up among the eaves, sleeps up to five – two of the beds are on a lovely mezzanine. The reception is in the antique shop downstairs that specialises in art deco, so you can browse at leisure.
