No surprises at this international chain: it’s all a bit bland and anonymous, but the air-conditioned rooms are always reliable, and pets can stay, too. The location – on a busy through road – also seems soulless, but duck off the main drag and you’re in the heart of the old Jewish quarter, full of rewarding backstreet wanderings. There are also Ibis hotels at Centraal Station, Schiphol and Transformatorweg.
