A luxury landmark with fabulous views across the Amstel, this is the place to head for an indulgent splurge or a honeymoon hideaway. As should be expected at these prices, every detail is taken care of - bathrooms are made of marble, toiletries are by Bulgari, and all rooms are supplied with fruit and mineral water. The bridal suite has a four-poster bed and an in-room Jacuzzi big enough for two. The hotel is one of the few in Amsterdam to boast a pool, and restaurant Excelsior is highly rated.
