Retro touches from every era, from a suit of armour in the reception to 1950s teapots and toasters in the breakfast room, adorn this rather eccentric, long-established hotel that's an ideal base for getting to know the Jordaan. Room decoration errs towards the chintzy - and those prized canal views cost extra - but things are brought bang up to date with free Wi-Fi. It's no smoking throughout.

@ Gillian, yeah you are right:) In this typical Amsterdam hotel stayed Steve Miller and his band en played that night before his gig in Amsterdam in the lobby of the hotel. (recordings can be found on internet) Now i write this message, it's again one night before he gives a concert in Holland (Tilburg), more than 40 years later, he's better than ever and i'm going to see him, yeah!
I have stayed here more than once. It is very centrally located, feels very cozy, breakfast is nice and the view from the breakfast room is beautiful. I also like the fact that many of the bands who traveled through Holland stayed here in the 70s and 80s, like Steve Miller and Elvis Costello and EmmyLou Harris, and I always try to add a little to what I find out about it. I am surprised no one has talked much about it. But it is amazing that such famous people would choose to stay in such a little hotel.
