Owner Christina Ong forged a sleek, oriental look from the former YMCA, birthing a sister hotel to London's pioneering minimalist icon. Staff in Yohji Yamamoto uniforms whisk guests off to a lofty reception where iMacs offer free internet. Also in pared down style, the rooms are by far the city's biggest, and boast wonderful desks. The two-storey suites come complete with kitchenette and full-height windows, and the terrace rooms have a balcony shower. The poolside Cy'an has innovative cuisine, while Glow café is health-oriented, taking its cue from the hotel's Shambhala Spa. Only guests and members (from BKK's elite) can enter the exclusive Met Bar.
