Sukhothai review Rate it

Designed by Ed Tuttle in an influential Siamese minimalist fashion - which showcases extraordinary floral installations by designer Sakul Intakul - the Sukhothai is arguably Bangkok's most beautiful hotel. Most rooms look out on to the six acres of peaceful grounds and pools containing brick chedi, although the owners are endangering the view by erecting a massive tower behind. However, this is a classy retreat, offering exquisite service. Locals love the Thai food at Celadon, the Italian restaurant La Scala and the indulgent champagne brunch at the Colonnade, and many join the first-rate health club for its tennis, squash and people-watching pool.
