The Soho lives up to its Manhattan namesake in that it has the feel of a New York village loft. A duplex-height lobby filled with the light of numerous glass art installations leads into a comfortable basement business space with library, desks, sofas, a small terrace and free internet. On the first floor there's a breakfast room, and a cocktail bar and plunge pool on the roof. Generously proportioned bedrooms have been done out in tasteful olive greens and wood, with gargantuan beds, plasma-screen TVs and glass bathrooms by Philippe Starck. The best have spacious terraces. It's trendy, but not achingly so and has a loyal following. Book well in advance.
