John

The new production by DV8 Physical Theatre, 'John', is the result of months of research and preparation: the artistic director of the company, Lloyd Newson, interviewed about 50 men, and their stories about love, sex and personal struggles came together unexpectedly to provide a vision of a world unknown to most. This new work is linked to the previous two DV8 shows: 'To Be Straight With You' (Grand Prix de la Danse, 2009, Paris) and 'Can We Talk About This?' (Helpmann Award for Best Dance Production, 2012, Sydney; Best Production of the year, 'Tanz Magazine', 2012, Germany); the latter was on in Barcelona's Mercat de les Flors in May 2012.
