This fast food joint specializes in empanadas (pasties), proving that Argentina isn’t the only place in the world that does 'em right. On the Las Empas Facebook page, they ask their clientele to post their favourite recipe, and the one that gets the most ‘likes’ is added to the menu. Though they look just like the classic frozen supermarket empanadillas, these are home-made with care and by hand.
Some of their flavours? The Catalana is filled with warm escalivada (roasted aubergine, pepper, onion and tomato), or try the Siciliana with chopped veal, onion, oregano, raisins, pine nuts and dried tomato. A great place to grab a bite and explore the neighbourhood.
