Time Out says

Neither documentary nor fiction but something in between, this features interviews with real people, the rural poor, mostly. They talk about their lives, but also tell stories. And one story in particular emerges: a surreal tale of a crippled child whose teacher collapses, and out from under her skirts rolls a strange ball. Interviewees young and old take up this yarn and elaborate. Occasionally we get a dramatisation - or a traditional Thai opera version. Printed in ultra grainy monochrome, this perverse enterprise is certainly intriguing. What it all has to do with the price of fish, I can't imagine.
