This quintessentially Gallic bar once served pastis to visiting sailors and the denizens of the Barrio Chino underworld. It still has a louche Marseilles feel, floor-to-ceiling indecipherable oil paintings (by the original owner when drunk, apparently), Edith Piaf on the stereo, and latter-day troubadours on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Sundays.
