Hostal Fontanella

Unremarkable – aside from a splendid Modernista lift – but more than adequate, this 11-room hostal has got enough chintz, lace and dried flowers to give even Laura Ashley a serious run for her money. The downside of the Fontanella’s central location is that outward-facing rooms are abuzz with the sound of busy traffic. However, it’s a clean and comfortable place to stay, and double-glazing has recently been installed.

Great little hostal in an excellent location. Simple, but clean and friendly with plenty of hot water and comfy beds. Although set in part of a floor in an appartment building, security was very good as entrance/exit was policed strictly by the lovely family couple who run the hostal. They are on hand to answer the door till 3am. Posted on May 20 2008 12:19
