Banys Orientals

C/Argenteria 37

Banys Orientals remains one of the best deals in town. It exudes cool, from its location at the heart of the Born to the deeply stylish shades-of-grey minimalism of its rooms, and touches such as free mineral water on the landings. The downside is the smallish size of some of the double rooms. Plans to create a luxurious new service by tapping into the eponymous thermal baths that lie underneath the hotel are in the pipeline.

This is a lovely hotel at a very good price. Our only complaint was that it was difficult to get a hot shower--the water always seemed to be cold (this is in the suite on the top floor). Sleek and minimalist, the rooms are very stylish, appealing, and clean. The staff also could have been slightly more friendly. Breakfast buffet is large and tasty (price: 10 euros). No elevator to the suite, so lots of stairs to walk up. Might be an issue for someone with difficulty climbing stairs. Posted on Jun 06 2007 22:02

The hotel is in a great safe neighborhood. Tons of places to eat!!The metro is about 30 yds away!Free water and apples! The rooms are small, but worth it! Posted on Apr 17 2007 23:21
