Hotel Podium

Attractively located behind an early 20th-century façade but essentially a business hotel, the Podium is worth checking for discounts at weekends and other off-peak times. The rooms are smart and comfortably equipped (with Playstations!); the rooftop fun-land includes a bar and, unusually, a pool big enough for swimming as opposed to just dipping.
