Museu Egipci de Barcelona
C/València 284
Two floors of this museum showcase a well-chosen collection that spans some 3,000 years of Nile-drenched culture. Exhibits run from religious statuary, such as the massive baboon heads used to decorate temples, to everyday copper mirrors or alabaster headrests. Outstanding pieces include painstakingly matched fragments from the Sixth Dynasty Tomb of Iny, a bronze statuette of the goddess Osiris breastfeeding her son Horus, and mummified cats, baby crocodiles and falcons.
