Superbly inventive cooking is overseen by renowned Catalan chef Joan Roca and designed as ‘half portions’, the better to experience the full range, from sea bass with lemongrass to exquisite suckling pig with a sharp Granny Smith purée. Wines from a list of 500 are suggested to go with every course, and many dishes are even built around them: you can finish, for example, with ‘Sauternes’, the wine’s bouquet perfectly rendered in mango ice-cream, saffron custard and grapefruit jelly.

    This restaurant came recommended by a Brit living in Barcelona. The ambience of the hotel bar/restaurant was very chic and this presentation continued during the evening. We opted for the tasting menu accompanied by wine which was a lovely experience but for us Cinc Sentits just had the edge. Posted on Nov 06 2007 18:28
