Tragaluz is the stylish flagship for an extraordinarily successful group of restaurants (which includes Agua, Bestial and Omm). Prices have risen a bit recently and the wine mark-up is hard to swallow, but there’s no faulting tuna tataki with a cardamom wafer and a dollop of ratatouille-like pisto; monkfish tail in a sweet tomato sofrito with black olive oil; or juicy braised oxtail with cabbage. Finish with the cherry consommé or a thin tart of white and dark chocolate.

WWorst restaurant experience in Barcelona yet. Outrageously expensive for what you get as we had the rudest waiter we have ever come across. Manager wa snooty and uninterested in sorting our problem with our order. Mixed up our order, food arrived cold. Maybe it was an off night or we had particularly bad luck I don'y know. Pretentious and pricey. They are cluelss when it comes to lamb - which turned up late, singed and stringy - I sent it back. Avoid. Posted on Jan 17 2008 16:41
