There are a number of these old granjes (milk bars, often specialising in hot chocolate) around town, but this is one of the loveliest, with handsome antique fittings and its very own section of Roman wall at the back. You can stand your spoon in the chocolate, and it won’t be to all tastes.

Great food, better coffee, best ornge juice in the world! Most friendly, welcoming and cheerful people work there, every visit a pleasure. Desayono at la Granja at least once per trip to Barcelona, it's that good. Posted on Apr 26 2007 08:35
