Plaça del Sol 13

Old-school Spain lives on as penguin-suited waiters solemnly hand out brown PVC menus at plastic teak-effect tables under painfully austere lighting. But it’s all worth it for the food: as traditionally brown as the drab decor, it runs the full gamut of hefty Iberian classics. Start with fish soups or lentils and go on to paellas, roast meats and seafood stews, followed by serious, own-made crema catalana or tarta de Santiago.

If you're going for Sunday lunch make sure you make a reservation to avoid being disappointed...like we were. Place has a certain functional yesteryear charm to it and the food on the tables looked fairly decent. Posted on Oct 22 2007 21:15

Good restaurant! Good food and moderate prices. Only locals inside, No tourists! Great location in the district of Gracia, a very nice area. Posted on Aug 14 2007 17:30
