Located in the 15th-century Palau Nadal, this world-class collection of pre-Columbian art includes frequently changing selections of masks, textiles, jewellery and sculpture, with pieces dating from as far back as the second millennium BC and running up to the early 16th century (showing just how loosely the term ‘pre-Columbian’ can be used). The Barcelona holdings focus solely on the Americas, representing most of the styles that can be found among the ancient cultures of Meso-America, Central America, Andean America and the Amazon region.
