Now that Snowflake the albino gorilla has gone to the swinging tyre in the sky, the zoo is a notably emptier place despite the new multimedia gorilla museum. Kids still love old favourites like the dolphins, sea lions, elephants, monkeys and hippos, although there’s barely enough room to swing a bobcat in some of the enclosures. Child- friendly features include a farmyard petting zoo, pony rides, mini-train and plenty of restaurants, picnic areas and playgrounds. You can rent electric cars from the C/Wellington entrance.
