La Paradeta

C/Comercial 7, Born

Superb seafood, served refectory style. Choose from glistening mounds of clams, mussels, squid, spider crabs and whatever else the boats have brought in, let them know how you’d like it cooked (grilled, steamed or a la marinera), pick a sauce (Marie Rose, spicy local romesco, all i oli or onion with tuna), buy a drink and wait for your number to be called. A great – and cheap – experience for anyone not too grand to clear their own plate.

    I went last week and had a great time. The food was superb and very reasonable. The two of us ate dinner and drank wine for less 50 euros. They now have five altogether;
    Paradeta Sants- Calle Riego 27;
    Paradeta Born- Calle Comercial 7;
    Paradeta Meridiana- Calle Pacifico 74;
    Paradeta Sagrada Familia- Pasaje Simo 18;
    Paradeta Sitges- Calle Sant Pere 24 Posted on May 19 2008 18:01

    There are now three (3) branches in the city: 1 just a hop and step from the Sagrada Familia, and another near Sants rail station. Both take a little seeking out as they are tucked down small side streets. Cheap, cheerfu, noisy, works canteen like atmosphere. Love it. Posted on Jan 17 2008 16:38

    This restaurant is unpretencious and plain. You get what you order. Is like a fishmongers shop with a restaurant at the back. You order at the counter and you choose the way you want the fish and seafood be cooked. Be patient as there are very long queues and locals will try to jump the queue... Posted on Jan 29 2007 16:58

    Guys - this place is shut for the next 3 weeks as the street is being dug up. We were pretty disappointed but we met other Spanish people who didn't know it had closed either. Ended up in Tacas y Vincas around the corner which was an acceptable substitute. Posted on Jan 26 2007 15:42
