After years of declining popularity, the Maremàgnum shopping centre has been spruced up, ditched most of the bars and discos and taken a step upmarket with shops such as Xocoa (for mouthwatering chocolate), Calvin Klein and Parisian accessories from boudoirish Lollipops. The high-street staples are all present and correct – Mango, H&M, Women’s Secret and so on – and the ground floor still focuses on the family market with sweets, clothes for kids and a Barça shop. There’s also a Starbucks and a handful of tapas bars and restaurants.
