A well-loved bar that’s been in the same family for five generations. Jean Genet, among other notorious artists and petty thieves, used to come here, attracted, no doubt, by the locally made absinthe, served to this day. Dusty, untapped 100-year-old bottles sit in tall glass cabinets alongside old mirrors and faded William Morris curtains, and chandeliers loom over the cheerful, largely foreign crowd.
