Rough and ready, noisy, chaotic and a lot of fun, Mesón David is also one of the cheapest restaurants in Barcelona. Be prepared to share a table. Mainly Galician dishes include caldo gallego (cabbage broth) or fish soup to start, followed by lechazo (a vast hunk of roast pork) or grilled calamares. Of the desserts, the almond tarta de Santiago battles for supremacy with fresh baby pineapple doused in Cointreau.
