Another of the recent wave of Barcelona hotels to adhere to the unwritten design protocol that grey is the new black. The Central's shadowy, almost Hitchcockian corridors open up on to sleekly appointed rooms that come with flat-screen televisions, DVD players and Korres toiletries, although some guests have complained that the bathroom lighting is too dim. But the real charm lies on the roof. Here you can sip a cocktail and admire the views while floating in the vertiginous infinity pool.

Stayed here recently, and was mightily impressed for the price - the rooms were modern and very comfortable - some set out better than others, ask for a room with 2 windows rather than one - we stayed in 414 - I can vouch for that one.
The breakfast was also very good - with very tasty Spanish hams - generally a very good selection, cooked, cold, pastries, fruit - you can even have a glass of bubbly!
The terrace area upstairs is a great addition with amazing views - however it is quite small (the pool is much smaller than made out in the photo above) and so it can be difficult to find a seat when busy. The cocktails at the bar though were a little mediocre - probably the only complaint I would have.
The staff are fantastic and are ready to help with anything.
Would definitely stay here again.
