Antiques and contemporary design merge behind the neo-classical exterior of the Claris, which contains the largest private collection of Egyptian art in Spain. Some bedrooms are on the small side, while others are duplex, but all have Chesterfield sofas and plenty of art. Warhol prints liven up the fashionable East 47 restaurant. The rooftop pool is just about big enough to swim in, with plenty of loungers, and a cocktail bar and DJ.
