Hotel Neri review
Arguably the sexiest boutique in town, this is the perfect treat for a naughty weekend, located in a former 18th-century palace. The vampish lobby-cum-library teams flagstone floors with crushed red velvet chaises longues and lashings of gold leaf, though the rooms are slightly more understated. Neutral tones, natural materials and rustic finishes (untreated wood and unpolished marble) stand in stylish contrast to lavish satins, sharp design and high-tech perks (hi-fis, plasma-screen TVs). The mini bar stocks not only champagne, but candles and incense, and the lush rooftop garden provides plenty of private nooks for dangerous liaisons.
