Bonic is painted in daisy-fresh colours with sunlight streaming through the windows and lots of meticulously restored original features, such as ornately tiled floors. Attention to detail is exceptional for the price, with the gregarious Fernando doing all he can to make you feel at home. Free newspapers and magazines, tea, coffee and water, and flowers in the three immaculate, communal bathrooms all add up to an experience that raises the budget bar considerably.
