Barceló Raval review
This cylindrical building now dominates the Rambla del Raval and promises to become something of an icon of the barrio. A hip cocktail lounge designed by Jordi Gali and the avant-garde tapas bar are upping the ante still more. The smart oval-shaped roof terrace offers 360º views (with key buildings usefully labelled from a viewing platform) and a plunge pool. Bedrooms are fairly uniform but airy and modern, with a technology port for all your multimedia needs and a Nespresso machine for those bleary mornings after. Note that the opening offers are great value, but may change by 2009.
