A true retreat, this small and friendly bed and breakfast offers a home-style experience and is ideal if you're looking for a more peaceful city break. The centre is about 20 minutes away by taxi. But the advantages are that, being situated high up, the air is that little bit fresher than in the city and the views are fabulous (all rooms have a balcony and en suite bathrooms). Bedrooms are tasteful with cosy quilts and flowers, communal areas are well-stocked with guide books and magazines, and the breakfast is one of the best in Barcelona.
