Time Out says

The first day of Primavera Sound 2014 at the Parc del Fòrum, starts off strong with one of the most anticipated headliners of this year’s festival: Canadians Arcade Fire will perform songs their majestic album ‘Reflektor’ and other crowd-pleasers. Day one artists also include Annie Erin Clark, better known as St. Vincent; the Californian group Warpaint, playing songs from their albums ‘The Fool’ and ‘Warpaint’; and Neutral Milk Hotel, the first band confirmed for this year’s line-up. CHVRCHES will show off their synth-pop sound from Scotland; and American band Real Estate will wow with their indie rock. Shadowy lords of the seventies and eighties, Chrome drag themselves out of the shadows to lay claim to their position as authentic pioneers of industrial rock and to personally remind us about how they road rough-shod over punk and took the Stooges’ abrasiveness to the darkest recesses. All the way from Brazil are Móveis Colonias de Acaju, with their cutting-edge pop-rock, and singer-songwriter Rodrigo Amarante. Fans of ’90s rock can indulge their nostalgia with performances by Queens of the Stone Age and Julian Cope. Another highlight of the day will be Jaime xx from The xx. El Petit de Cal Eril, Standstill and Svper will represent the Catalan music scene, while Grupo de Expertos Solynieve travel up from Granada. And do not miss Primavera Sound favourites, from Chicago, with their first album in seven years, it’s Shellac!
