Tucked down a residential Poble Sec street, behind a doorbell and slatted blinds, Tapioles manages to be both elegant and homely, with accomplished but unpretentious food. The menu changes daily, but has included gnocchi with goat's cheese and sage butter; boeuf bourguignon; fresh pasta with baby broad beans and artichokes; rose-water rice pudding with pomegranate, and ginger and mascarpone cheesecake. The freshest produce is bought every day and cooked according to demand, so booking is obligatory.
