The red and blue colour scheme, tissue paper bunting and chaotic hubbub make this a little slice of old Mexico. The minuscule writing on the menu and low lighting make for some guesswork when placing your order (the covered patio at the back is brighter), but the choices are standard enough - quesadillas, tacos, ceviche and enchiladas - with a couple of surprises, such as the tasting platter of insects. The 'aguas' are refreshing on summer nights - iced water with lime and honey; pineapple and mint, and other fruit. Service can be slow and the kitchen a little heavy-handed with the sauces, but the portions are huge and prices reasonable.
