An ancient rambling farmhouse clad in bougainvillea, perched high above the city, Can Travi Nou offers wonderfully rustic dining rooms with roaring log fires in winter, while in summer the action moves out to a covered terrace in a bosky, candlelit garden. The food is hearty, traditional Catalan cuisine, though it's a little expensive for what it is, and suffers from the sheer volume being churned out of the kitchen. Puddings are better and served with a porrón (a glass jug with a drinking spout) of muscatel. But CTN is really all about location, location, location.
