Completely alfresco, high up in a clearing among the pines, this is a magical space, scattered with deckchairs, hammocks and candlelit tables. Rather surreally, DJs spinning funk, rare groove and lounge alternate with a faltering string quartet; food is grilled sausages and salad, plus a few rice dishes. To find it, follow the Camí del Mar footpath south around the castle, and be aware it's a lot cooler up here than in town.

OK...this restaurant is in a FABULOUS location, beautiful view, funky vibe, low key, casual. MAKE RESERVATIONS. This restaurant is way out of the way. We got there via bus and cab, walked up to the location only to be told they had no tables available. There was a small bar area, with low camping chairs where we were told we could have a drink and maybe a bite but the cocktail waitress told us they ran out of food. Now here we are, 10pm, starving, no food, no cab, no way down the mountain. Luckily, there was a cab dropping off other patrons (hopefully with reservations) and we jumped in and went to a lovely restaurant on the plaza de espana.
