For most of the 20th-century this was a favoured meeting place of the Catalan intelligentsia, underground political groups and the 1960s artistic group known as La Gauche Divine. It lay fallow during the noughties, but its elegant art deco interior has been dusted off and gussied up thanks to a collaboration between chef Carles Abellan and Moritz beer. There's a long list of tapas and larger dishes, along with excellent coffee and bathrooms that pay technicolour homage to Paul Smith.
