The essence of fin-de-siècle Barcelona, the 'Four Cats' was designed by Modernista heavyweight Puig i Cadafalch and patronised by the cultural glitterati of the era, most notably Picasso, who hung out here with Modernista painters Santiago Rusiñol and Ramon Casas. These days it's mostly frequented by tourists, but is an essential stop nonetheless.
