Bullfighting in Barcelona can be a sorry affair. The impressive Modernista Monumental bullring has seen better days, and anti-taurino protesters can often outnumber the spectators on quiet days. However, there are occasional corridas worth seeing; they take place on Sundays in summer.

it will be a great triumph for the people of this beautiful city when this sad and painfull slaughter of bulls ends.
