34th BCN International Comic Fair

The 34th Barcelona International Comic Fair is on from May 5 to 8 in Palau 1 and Palau 2 in the Plaça del Univers at the Fira Barcelona Montjuïc. The main exhibition is 'Comics on wheels', which is dedicated to the appearance of cars, motorbikes and bicycles in comics. You'll see not only original comics from all over the world, but real cars as well, and there will be programmed activities related to road safety.

In the Fair there are other stars, of course, including Francisco Ibáñez, with a monographic show to celebrate his 80th birthday, and Frank Miller, the American author who redefined superhero comics in the 1980s, and who will give a talk on Saturday, May 7.

At the Fira de Montjuïc you'll also see exhibitions dedicated to the prizewinners from last year. And there will be signings by authors, a talk on superheroines in comics, workshops, learning activities, and the jewel in the Fair's crown, Cosplay competitions, one of which is dedicated to superheroes (Sat 7) and another to videogames (Sun 8).
