Soto has a number of different outlets across the city and they all offer a good introduction to sushi. We visited the Gemmayzeh branch and found it to be friendly, relaxed and modern. Sushi is the main feature of the menu, and you’ll find the usual favourites, including ura maki, temaki and sashimi. When the choice is all a bit too overwhelming for you, then you’ll find that Soto has a good selection of set menus, for one or more diners. Soto does also offers a selection of other Japanese dishes, including tempura and teriyaki.
Intriguingly every branch of Soto in the city is flanked by an Olio Italian restaurant and is quite happy for visitors to order from both or either menu. Salmon sashimi on spaghetti anyone?
