Villa Clara offers diners a slice of ‘la belle vie’ in a gorgeous Lebanese house. To simply call the house beautiful doesn’t even come close to capturing the character of this boutique hotel’s restaurant. It’s the kind of house that people would have thought beguiling when it was first built and time has merely added glamour of nostalgia to the mix. That said just enough modernity has been added to the establishment, but it is the kind of design that takes inspiration from the past.
The sumptuous surroundings are matched by the sumptuous food that is served, which is all French. Everything is made using fresh and organic ingredients. The menu at Villa Clara changes regularly on the whim of the chefs and the season, but is always first rate. If, like many diners, you fall in love with the restaurant do yourself a favour and check into the accompanying hotel as well.
