Gedenkstätte Berliner Mauer review

Immediately upon unification, the city bought the stretch of the Wall that's found here to maintain as a memorial, and it was finally dedicated in 1998. Impeccably restored, it is also as sterile a monument as any in Berlin, with a brass plaque decrying the Communist 'reign of terror', which is regularly defaced. The documentation centre, featuring displays on the Wall and a database of escapees, is across the street, and from its roof you can view the Wall and the Kapelle der Versöhnung (Chapel of Reconciliation).
