Walter Gropius, founder of the Bauhaus school, designed the elegant white building that now houses this absorbing design museum. The permanent exhibition presents furniture, ceramics, prints, sculptures, photographs and sketches created in the Bauhaus workshop between 1919 and 1933, when the school was closed down by the Nazis. There are also first-rate temporary exhibitions and an interesting gift shop offering 250 designer items.

It's actually a very small museum for 7eur, mainly comprised of 2 rooms and there are few nice pieces, but it could be so much better... bigger collection, more educational material, (more pleasant staff perhaps?)

For anyone interested in fantastic design, you have to see this. It is small, but with loads to see, from furniture, posters, architectural drawings and models to metal, class and ceramic, put it on your must see list.
