Angleterre Hotel review
The Berlin hotel group Gold Inn has scrubbed the graffiti off this former squatted building and the original 1871 façade now fronts a warmly furnished mid-range hotel offering a touch of Englishness near Checkpoint Charlie. There's a Speaker's Corner restaurant, and the Commonwealth bar-lounge serves Newcastle Brown Ale. The deluxe rooms have balconies, and the hotel's proximity to the heart of Berlin's major gallery scene also makes it an attractive option.
